What types of plans do I need to submit for review?
LTFR will need to review and approve the following types of plans for all new construction that is subject to the adopted building and fire codes:
- Subdivision plans
- Site plans
- Building plans
- Fire sprinkler plans
- Fire alarm plans

What type of inspections do I need to call for?
The LTFR Prevention Division performs the following types of inspections:
- Maintenance Inspections
- Certificate of Occupancy Inspections
- Daycare / Foster Home Inspections
- Fire Works Stand Inspections
- Hazardous Materials Inspections
- Fire Sprinkler Hydrostatic and Visual Inspections
- Fire Alarm Inspections
- Underground Fire Line Inspections
- Hydrant Flow Tests
Please keep in mind to call us early enough in your construction schedule so that we may be able to perform complete inspections without negatively impacting your schedule (for example, contact us for a fire sprinkler visual inspection before ceiling tiles are installed).
Also remember that other entities may also need to perform inspections at your site (for example, City of Lakeway, Village of Bee Cave, LCRA, etc.).

Are fireworks legal in your district?
Yes, only on property legally under your control or on another's property with their permission, and only in the unincorporated areas. The possession, sale, or discharge of fireworks is prohibited within the incorporated limits of the Cities of Bee Cave, Lakeway, and Village of The Hills.

Please contact the Water Utility Provider for your subdivision.
Can a fire truck come to my child’s birthday party?
Yes, please contact the Fire Prevention Division at (512) 266-2533 Ext. 2327 to schedule a fire truck visit.
I run a daycare out of my home, what rules do I need to follow?
You must meet the requirements of the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services Child Care Standards and local building and fire codes. Please call our Prevention Division at (512) 266-2533 for an annual inspection by our Inspectors.
