Angela Grossman

Commissioner
Email

Angela Grossman grew up in suburban Cleveland, Ohio, and earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and political science, with a minor in accounting, from Ashland University. After graduation, a job opportunity took her across the country before she settled in California, where she pursued advanced studies at San Francisco State University and the University of California, San Francisco, earning both a master’s and doctorate in physical therapy. During her time in the Bay Area, she immersed herself in the local culinary scene, outdoor adventures, and became a certified skydiver.

Angela worked as an inpatient acute care physical therapist at California Pacific Medical Center for seven years before shifting gears to focus on family life. Since welcoming her first son, Ethan, in 2014, she has mastered the art of microwaving chicken nuggets and spearing juice boxes one-handed. In 2016, seeking a more family-friendly environment, Angela, her husband Michael, and their growing family moved to Austin, where they welcomed their second son, Aiden, in 2018.

Now deeply rooted in Austin, Angela stays active in her local CrossFit community and indulges her passion for travel—she’s visited 41 countries and consequently can ask, “Where’s the restroom?” in a wide array of languages.

Shiloh Newman

President
Email

Shiloh Newman is a native Texan. He was born in Corpus Christi but moved to Austin at the ripe old age of 5 and has never left. He attended Round Rock ISD and graduated from Westwood High School, he remembers when Parmer Lane was just a barbed wire fence he would jump and go fishing on the other side. After high school he received a scholarship to play football at Lamar University and he eventually graduated from Texas State University with a BBA focused in management.

His business career began in the early 90’s in downtown Austin on Sixth Street. After running and owning several bars and nightclubs he expanded his small business ownership when he received his real estate broker’s license in 1999. Shiloh and his wife Jenny started a real estate asset management company and proceeded to purchase properties in many states. Always wanting to grow and do something new, Shiloh branched out to commercial real estate. He purchased a South Austin shopping center that happened to have the locally famous restaurant, La Fuente’s, as a tenant. He fell in love with this old Austin institute and instead of tearing it down he brought it back to life. Shiloh operated La Fuente’s restaurant for nearly 10 years, opening a second location as well.

Shiloh realized he wanted to spend more time with his two daughters and give back to the community that has given him so much so he changed his priorities. Shiloh has focused nearly all of his time for the past 15 years on the Lake Travis Youth Association where he has been a girls soccer coach and currently sits on the board as president of LTYA. He realized there is a need in the community to conserve water and help sustain our natural resources so he started Cen-Tex Luxury Lawns. They specialize in artificial turf for home, business and athletics. Saving precious water for Lake Travis and Austin.

The Newman family has lived in Lakeway for over 20 years. Shiloh and Jenny have raised both their daughters in the community. Their oldest daughter, MJ, is heading to TCU in the fall. While their youngest, Emmabeth, will start her sophomore year in high school. Shiloh has deep roots here and looks forward to serving the area for many years to come.
